Senior Software Engineer – Business Applications (m/f/d)

Few organisations have a green field. They have business processes that grew over years, ageing applications, workarounds, Excel, Access and VBA stopgaps, temporary M365 setups, and systems that still run — but no longer run well.

That is where we work.

Agile-IS modernises business-critical processes and the applications close to them. We build solutions that work in day-to-day operations: with modern software engineering, M365, Azure, automation and AI where that is the sensible answer.

We are not looking for a developer who only works through tickets. Nor for an architect who only draws diagrams. We are looking for someone who understands a business problem, designs the technical answer, and delivers it cleanly with a strong team.

Your role

You work close to the client and close to the delivery. You understand requirements, question processes, see how the technical and the business side connect, and build dependable applications from that.

Typical work:

• building modern business applications
• modernising applications that grew over time
• replacing Excel, Access and VBA stopgaps
• integrating with M365, Azure or existing systems
• automating routines
• using AI where it produces real benefit
• working things through with clients, users and the team

You’ll fit here if you …

• speak and write very good German
• have at least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering
• have built and shipped applications in production
• see client contact as part of good solution design rather than an interruption
• can combine technical quality with pragmatic delivery
• work independently and still know when to ask for support
• want to turn processes and applications that grew over time into something dependable

What you should bring technically

Depending on your focus, you should have experience in several of these areas:

• C# and .NET
• web development
• databases and SQL
• interfaces and APIs
• Azure
• Microsoft 365
• modern application architecture
• automation
• AI-assisted development and solution scenarios

You do not need to be perfect at all of it. But you should not be starting from zero.

This is not the role if you …

• barely speak German
• want to work fully remotely
• do not want direct contact with clients
• would rather only implement neatly specified tickets
• treat an unclear requirement as someone else’s problem
• define seniority mainly through technology but do not want to take responsibility
• see software as an end in itself
